Terms Of Service Posting Guidelines
In order to encourage all GraceGroups members to live out our church mission to being Reach Up, Reach In and Reach Out, we need to agree on some standards for Connect.GraceInAuburn.com. We want you to use this site. We want you to feel “safe” to be who you are, so we respectfully ask you to adhere to the following:
1. CHRIST-LIKENESS: In Connect.GraceInAuburn.com, we're representing Jesus Christ with our words. Our posts should reflect Christ-likeness in both our language and tone. A. Excessive or Extreme Profanity and abusive content are not allowed. B. Be respectful of others’ opinions. Don’t attack someone because you disagree with them. C. Try not to “SHOUT” at others in discussion forums by using ALL CAPS. D. Do not infringe on the rights of others by using threatening, abusive, defamatory, invasion of privacy or publicity rights, vulgar, obscene, divisive or otherwise objectionable activity or language. E. Do not conduct yourself in a way that restricts or inhibits any other member from using or enjoying Connect.GraceInAuburn.com.
2. CONTENT: You are responsible for whatever you post anywhere within Connect.GraceInAuburn.com. Here are some guidelines to live by: A. Avoid posting any copyrighted material. This includes full lyrics of songs, etc., unless you have permission from the owner or unless allowed under fair use. B. Let's keep Connect.GraceInAuburn.com a place for relationship—not a marketplace. It’s okay to rent a room or sell a washer and dryer. It’s also okay to tell people what you do; however, if you are a vendor of a product, please find other ways to market that. To protect the integrity of the discussions in Connect.GraceInAuburn.com, we don’t want you to “actively” promote or sell. This also means soliciting or fund-raising of any kind is prohibited, even for good causes. C. Avoid advertising and spamming (sending unsolicited e-mail) to people within Connect.GraceInAuburn.com. D. Harvesting of e-mail addresses is prohibited. E. Each participant in Connect.GraceInAuburn.com is responsible for not spreading viruses or sending objectionable content through e-mail to other participants. F. Any posted content that appears argumentative, sarcastic or divisive may be deleted without discussion. G. Please don’t copy the same post to another area of Connect.GraceInAuburn.com. H. While it is preferred that community members provide links to personal or preferred Web sites within the appropriate areas in their MySpace or MyPop profile pages, you are free to post a link to your Web site in Connect.GraceInAuburn.com, provided that you do not repeatedly and excessively post the same link over and over again in different areas of Connect.GraceInAuburn.com. I. All posts are subject to the review of staff and volunteers of Grace Community Church. We reserve the right to remove any content for any reason. Please note that moderation of conduct and content (conducted by Grace Community Church staff and volunteers) may include moving posts to the appropriate area if misplaced, "featuring" particularly interesting or popular posts, removing posts from view if inappropriate or if they detract from a guided discussion, or copying posts to other relevant areas.
3. CARE: The Internet is a public place, so protect yourself by not posting personal contact information (phone numbers, addresses, etc.) A. Stay away from secrets or other confidential information. B. Never represent yourself as someone you are not. C. Our moderators and staff are not trained or licensed professional counselors, although they and Connect.GraceInAuburn.com members may have a variety of biblical and God-given insights. If you are looking for professional help for a problem, we encourage you to seek out Godly counsel from your local church or from a local Christian counselor.
4. CAUTION: Connect.GraceInAuburn.com is not monitored in real time, but as we learn of a problem, we may take steps to correct it. Help us by sending a note to webmaster@gccauburn.net If you have to report something, please include a link to the post, if possible, and where the problem is located. This will give us the ability to take action quickly.
5. COMMUNICATION: A bit of compassion can go a long way toward ministry and conveying biblical truths. If you have an opposing opinion, speak your thoughts in love. Make sure posts contain as much information as possible to allow others to really communicate with you and help you. Organize your thoughts before you begin to type in your message. We want everyone to get as much help and inspiration from these boards as possible.
